MAC/WESTERN PROVINCE RACE SCORING SYSTEM
These rules are designed be used in conjunction with the I S A F 2005-2008 rules of sailing.
These scoring guidelines have been designed to allow for the awarding of the various championships on an annual basis.
The scoring has been done in such a way that the best sailor for the season should win the relevant championship.
A discard system has been implemented to allow for a certain amount of misfortune during the racing season.
All weekend boardsailing events held in a category over a season will count for the relevant championship.
Individual day events will be scored in the following way:
Slalom, Course, Speed, Wave, Super cross:

2 2
3 3
Each place thereafter add 1point
The discard system for the days racing will be as follows:

8 or more 3
In speed the fastest run for the event counts towards the final event result.
For the relevant championship the results of all the events are tabulated.
Any individual not finishing a race will be scored equal to the last finisher +1 for that race.
Any individual missing a race will be scored equal to total entrants of the day +1 for that race.
The amount of discards allowed for the whole season will be equal the sum of all the races divided by 4.
Each individual sailor’s worst results will be discarded.
The sailor with the lowest score will be deemed club champion.
Where there is a tie in total points overall, the tie shall be broken in favour of:
1) The sailor who has won the greatest number of events throughout the year.
2) The sailor with the greatest number of first places, second ….
If there is still a tie the championship shall be shared.
