My favourite spot in the peninsula!

Outers is probably the place to get the biggest drop anywhere along the SA coast. It picks up as much swell size as Platboom.

Only works in 6 foot or bigger swell. Small;er than this it doesn't break. High tide preferable due to the kelp. You can sail it at low tide, but getting out is very hard, and the swell needs to be about 10 foot, otherwise you're going to mung yourself in the kelp.

Also wind direction can be an issue. Often a true SE doesn't blow here due to Slangkop mountain, but a SSE or S will blow nicely.

Getting out requires a floaty board as one has to bob out from Inner Kom with light winds. Normally it's easier than it looks.

Be careful of the rip that often goes out to the right. If it is big then the rip comes along the point and the out to sea to the right.
