General

No camping is permitted.
Sailing has been restricted to Wemmer Pan members.
Good dam for beginners and intermediate sailors.

Prevailing Wind Conditions

Predominately NW. Most of the wind at this dam is gusty, but one can
still have alot of fun here.
The main obstacle for the wind at this dam is the mine dumps that almost
surround it, but there are now in the process of reprocessing these
Easterly wind at this lake is very gusty owing to blocks of flats
obscuring most of the wind.
Westerly is not a common wind, usually occuring with the on set of cold
fronts or storms, but it offers the cleanest wind and even gets
channeled up the length of the dam.

Directions

 From Johannesburg, take M2 East highway until its end (10-15 minutes
travel)
Turn right at T-junction (Hyundai Junction).
Drive past Rand Refinery and Simmerpan (on right), 5 robots.
Dam will be on your right hand side.
The best launch site is from the King Fisher restuarant.
