Hi all Big Bay windsurfers and kiters

I would like to keep the community updated on what is currently happening w.r.t the situation at Big Bay.

I have been in contact with the lifesaving authorities at Big Bay about recent issues with windsurfers and kiters not respecting the demarcated bathers area at Big Bay.

We must realise that it is a priviledge for us to use Big Bay which is officially classified as a "blue flag" beach (i.e. for bathers I think)

I've also chatted to Brad Symington (representing the kiters) and the cabbage plan is to meet with the life savers Tues 7pm at Big Bay and :

1) Clarify\create Bigbay windsurfing and kiting guidelines\rules
2) Communicate these guidelines out to our communities by
a. Email
b. Posting on main sites
c. Printing flyers to be left at Bigbay shops and distributed manually
3) Attempt to instil self-policing of the guidelines

I unfortunately can't make the meeting tonight. If any other windsurfers can make it, please do so and try and clarify what the guidelines are so they can be communicated.
