| ...because everytime you go sail you HAVE to gybe on the far side but always stop for a quick rest this side, so never get to do it this side... hence one side better than the other.... :-) |

I thought it was because everyone is watching at the shallow end, and on the deep end nobody can see him!
Other possible causes are one arm is shorter than the other, and it is helpful if your footstraps are equidistant from the centre line. Verify this with a tape measure, and make sure that the distribution of weight of the wet footstraps(which could weigh as much as 400g) dont influence your delicate balance.
There is a very good Chinese video which is a full 27 seconds long, in full colour, showing how you can practise on an ironing board in the privacy of your own home. The video comes with screws and footstraps. |

Got it.
And I thought that I was just a KAK sailor. I can now blame my mother. She is the the one that kept whacking my left butt cheek which has destroyed my balance.
Come to think about it.. maybe I should take my board off the roof racks before I go out. |

It's all about windSURFING: you are either goofy or regular, ie you have a favourite leading foot which will be common to all the board sports you try/practise. Your leading foot is the forward one on your favourite gybe: left foot 1st, you're regular, right foot 1st you're goofy!
Also, if none of Druid's recommendations work, you might try wearing your harness the other way round (buckle pointing behind you): the added air turbulence induced should reverse the good/bad gybing tacks. You'll suddenly also find loads of people on the beach trying to help you...Am I right, Waggy? |

What tahkos said is about it isn't it? The fact that you are regular(natural) or goofy footed has got a great deal to do with it, it's becuase you favour the one side to the other.
